We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to help design, build, and operate a cloud-native geospatial data platform and satellite operations infrastructure. You’ll work across teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environments that power everything from satellite tasking to data delivery.
This role blends infrastructure engineering with DevSecOps, automation, and geospatial data workflows. You’ll be a key contributor to the technical backbone—and a force multiplier for our engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with infrastructure, software, product, and imagery teams to translate requirements into robust cloud solutions
- Design and implement components of our Cloud-Native Geospatial Data Platform for data acquisition, processing, and dissemination
- Support Mission Operations with cloud infrastructure for satellite control, alerting, and tasking
- Own and evolve our cloud environment to empower engineering teams with best-in-class tools and methodologies
- Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to keep our stack cutting-edge
- Mentor junior cloud engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience building and operating cloud environments in fast-paced, remote-first settings
- Hands-on experience with AWS (S3, EKS, EC2, IAM
- Strong Kubernetes expertise
- Python, Docker, Terraform, Terramate, Ansible
- Deep understanding of DevSecOps, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and TDD
- Strong team player with a proactive mindset and a drive to challenge the status quo
- Eligible for Security Clearance (SC)
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Earth Observation (EO) or NewSpace startups
- Background in sysadmin, DevOps, or networking
- Familiarity with cloud and enterprise security topics
- Zarr, ArgoCD, Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs, STAC, PostGIS
