Job Title: Field Service Engineer / IT Engineer
Location: Central Germany – Frankfurt, Hesse, Thuringia

Target Salary: €80,000 – €90,000 + Car Allowance (€1000 per month) + Bonus + Pension + Healthcare
Working setup: Regional Field Support / Engineer role 70-80% Travel. 1 week per month, remote support from home office.

Introduction:
Talent-Relay have partnered with an Innovative client within the Healthcare and Med-Tech Space onboard a proactive IT Field Service Engineer, to support Software & Hardware for their client base across the Central Germany region.
As an IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering top-tier service in PC (Windows), software, network, and hardware troubleshooting. The role involves extensive travel to medical centres and hospitals throughout Central Germany – Frankfurt, Hesse, Thuringia.
Midweek overnight stays will be likely, and some weekend work during busy periods. Excellent Overtime rates for this.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and maintain technical systems at customer sites.
- Conduct site surveys to ensure installation readiness and compliance with quality standards.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance, system upgrades and software updates.
- Configure and troubleshoot Windows-based systems and device management.
- Resolve network connectivity issues in collaboration with customer IT teams.
- Maintain accurate service records, installation documentation and technical reports.
- Deliver excellent customer service and build strong client relationships.
- Travel throughout the assigned region to support installations, maintenance and customer requests, with occasional travel to other regions.
- Install wall-mounted monitors and safely route communication cables over distances of up to 50 metres.
- Work safely at height using ladders and follow PPE and site safety procedures while working alongside third-party contractors on construction and healthcare sites.
Required Skills & Experience
IT Field Engineering & Technical Support
- Previous experience working as an IT Field Engineer, IT Service Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, or similar technical support role
- Proven experience delivering both on-site and remote technical support in customer-facing environments
- Experience installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting desktop, laptop and peripheral devices
- Familiarity with desktop deployment, imaging and hardware installation processes
Microsoft Windows & End User Computing
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Experience configuring Windows settings, security policies, system services and user environments
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 (O365) administration and end-user support
- Skilled in using Windows troubleshooting tools including Device Manager, Event Viewer, Disk Management and command-line utilities
Hardware & Infrastructure
- Strong hardware diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience replacing and upgrading PC components, including memory, storage drives and other hardware components
- Knowledge of desktop, laptop and peripheral device configuration and support
- Understanding of storage technologies including RAID and NAS solutions
- Familiarity with BIOS/firmware configuration and hardware performance optimisation
Networking
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting IP addressing and network connectivity issues
- Knowledge of common network protocols, ports and basic network security concepts
- Understanding of network infrastructure including routers, switches and wireless connectivity
- Proficient in using networking and command-line troubleshooting tools

- Strong fault-finding and analytical troubleshooting skills with a structured, methodical approach
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented with a proactive, “can-do” attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow established installation and service procedures
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
- Able to manage multiple priorities and customer requirements in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience supporting medical devices, medical imaging systems or radiotherapy equipment
- Experience working within healthcare, hospital or clinical environments
- Exposure to regulated or highly controlled technical environments would be advantageous
